PURPOSE: To provide an overturning preventive device which can be installed very simply, and can prevent the overturning of furniture securely without hurting the furniture or a wall surface, and furthermore, has a large resisting force against the rolling of the earthquake and the like, so as to prevent the overturning of the furniture securely against a large earthquake.

CONSTITUTION: This overturning preventive device A of furniture is composed of a base member 3 loaded on the surface 2 of the top board of a furniture; at least a pair of arm members 8 and 9 whose both ends are journalled rotatable to both ends of the base member 3; a height regulator 10 to journal and fix the arm members by crossing in X-shape; and elastic members 13 and 14 contacting elastically to a ceiling surface which are provided on the upper ends of the arm members.
