Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overvoltage protection circuit that can detect and interrupt an input of overvoltage without using any overvoltage-detection-function-enabled leakage breaker integrally having a leakage detection/interruption function and an overvoltage detection/interruption function.SOLUTION: The overvoltage protection circuit has a leakage detection section, a leakage interruption section, an input voltage detection section and a leakage generation section. The leakage detection section detects a leakage condition in which a leakage current equal to or higher than a threshold current flows between a power input line for inputting a supply voltage and a ground potential. If the leakage detection section detects the leakage condition, the leakage interruption section interrupts the input of supply voltage. The input voltage detection section determines whether the supply voltage is equal to or higher than a threshold voltage. If the input voltage detection section determines that a supply voltage equal to or higher than the threshold voltage is input, the leakage generation section connects the power input line to the ground potential to cause a flow of pseudo leakage current equal to or higher than the threshold current between the power input line and the ground potential. The input voltage detection section and the leakage generation section are arranged independently of the leakage detection section and the leakage interruption section.
