To provide an overvoltage protection component that has high overvoltage protection effects, as well as, suppresses short-circuit defects.
The overvoltage protection component satisfies the relationship in a projected figure from the upper face of a substrate 17: b2+d2(a+b)2 and c2+d2(a+c)2, when the length of the part where a first electrode 12 and a second electrode 15 overlap inside a space 18 is set as a; the length of the part where the first electrode 12 does not overlap with the second electrode 15 inside the space 18 as b; the length of the part where the second electrode 15 does not overlap with the first electrode 12 inside the space 18 as c; and the distance between the first electrode 12 and the second electrode 15, in the thickness direction of the substrate 17 as d.
