To provide an overvoltage suppression device capable of suppressing overvoltage generated at inputting of a breaker, even when an inter-pole voltage of the breaker is of multifrequency.
In the overvoltage suppressing device 10 for suppressing the overvoltage generated at inputting of breakers 3U, 3V, 3W after the breakers 3U, 3V, 3W for switching connection of a power supply bus bar 2 and a feeder line 4 are opened, a waveform of power supply side voltage is measured; the waveform of a feeder line side voltage is measured; the former and the latter are added; and the waveform of an ingredient of a given frequency band is extracted from the waveform with the absolute value calculated, and the breakers 3U, 3V, 3W are injected, based on the period where the waveform becomes a maximum.
