Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I and formula II [X is O or S; R1 is H, halogen, C1-6 alkyl or the like; R2 is formyl, 4,5dihydroxyazol-2-yl, -COYR5 (Y is O or S; R5 is H, C1-6 alkyl, phenyl or the like); R3 is H, C1-6 alkyl or C3-8 cycloalkyl; R4 is hydroxy, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-6 alkyl or the like; or the like] and the salt of the same.

EXAMPLE: 4-Cyclopropylaminocarbonyl2-isopropyloxazole-5-carboxylic acid.

USE: Herbicide.

PROCESS: Diester of formula III is reacted with a base aqueous solution (for example; hydroxide of cation), to be monoester. Then the monoester is made to be amide by using amine of formula HNR3R4 in a solvent such as dichloromethane or the like at -20 through 100 deg. C, to obtain the compound of formula I or formula II.
