Title:
OXIDATION CATALYST FOR HYDROGEN, SELECTIVE OXIDATION METHOD FOR HYDROGEN, AND DEHYDROGENATION METHOD FOR HYDROCARBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3860625
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly efficiently carry out oxidation of hydrogen by adding a component produced by depositing platinum on an alumina to a catalyst which selectively oxidizes hydrogen in a mixed gas containing hydrogen and hydrocarbons, specifying the specific surface area of the alumina, and also specifying ammonia absorbing quantity of the alumina.
SOLUTION: A catalyst to be used for selectively oxidizing hydrogen existing in a mixed gas produced at the time of producing a dehydrogeneted hydrocarbon is produced by adding a component, which is produced by depositing platinum on alumina and in this case alumina having 0.5-6m2/g specific surface area and 5μmol/g or lower ammonia absorptive quantity is used as the alumina used as the carrier. Such alumina is obtained by adding an aqueous basic solution to an aqueous solution of, for example, aluminum nitrate to produce aluminum hydroxide, drying and firing the aluminum hydroxide to give an alumina powder, and burning the resultant alumina powder. The quantity of platinum to be deposited is set to be 0.01-10wt.% to the alumina.
