Abstract:

To provide an advantageous method for manufacturing corresponding ketones and alcohols by oxidizing a cycloalkane.

The manufacturing method of the corresponding ketones and alcohols comprises oxidizing the cycloalkane by oxygen in the presence of a cobalt compound and a ruthenium compound to give the corresponding ketones, alcohols, hydroperoxides and carboxylic acids, and subjecting these products to washing, as occasion demands, and subsequently to an alkali treatment in the presence of a metallic compound.
