To oxidize an organic compound in the form of a solution by adding an oxidizing agent comprising a peroxide containing at least two bound oxygen atoms (-O-O-).
This method for oxidizing an organic compound comprises continuously mixing a starting material flow A containing an organic compound with a starting material flow B containing an oxidizing agent comprising a peroxide, feeding the liquid reaction mixture into a microreactor 1 to divide the reaction mixture into reaction routes 4', and simultaneously feeding a cooling medium into cooling routes 3' to remove heat generated by the exothermic oxidation reaction carried out in the reaction routes 4' in the microreactor. The microreactor is provided with the many parallel reaction routes 4' and the many adjacent cooling routes 3'. The reaction routes are vertical to the flow directions of the adjacent routes. The reaction routes have the maximum route diameter (a) of <1,000 μm, preferably <500 μm, and the minimum wall thickness (b) between the reaction routes and the cooling routes is <1,000 μm, preferably <100 μm.
