Title:
OXIDE CATALYTIC MATERIAL FOR REMOVAL OF NOX, AND METHOD FOR REMOVING NOX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1133401
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalytic material capable of directly decomposing NO contained in waste gas discharged from a plant and a power plant and in exhaust gas from the lean burning engine of an automobile into N2 and O2 without using a reducing agent even in an oxidizing atmosphere at a high temp. of 800 deg.C and to provide a method for removing NOx using the catalytic material. SOLUTION: Palladium is carried by 0.5-20.0 wt.% on a spinel type crystalline multiple oxide contg. Ni and Ga as principal metallic elements and 5-75 wt.% CeO2 is added to the multiple oxide to obtain the objective oxide catalytic material for removal of NOx. Waste gas contg. NO is brought into contact with the catalytic material to directly decompose the NO into N2 and O2 without using a reducing agent.
