Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for efficiently obtaining a ginseng saponin freed of phenolic substances from an extract separated from the ginseng with a polar solvent.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing a ginseng saponin is to extract a root part of the ginseng with a polar solvent, treat the resultant extract with an iron salt solution regulated to a neutral pH and remove phenolic substances therefrom. The ginseng saponin produced by the method is blended in a composition such as a medicine, a cosmetic or a food.
