To obtain an oxygen permeable material which realizes excellent oxygen permeability by making full use of the oxygen permeable function by an organosilicon based component and, simultaneously, can very simply allow the surface to be endowed with hydrophilicity and water wettability without forcibly conducting hydrolytic treatment with a chemical such as a strong acid and a strong alkali.
The oxygen permeable material is composed of a polymer which has a component (A) composed of at least one (meth)acrylate derivative having a specific alkoxysilyl group, a component (B) composed of at least one specified polysiloxane based macromonomer having a polymerizable group bonded to the siloxane main chain through one or more urethane bonds, and a component (C) composed of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of a silicon-containing (meth)acrylate monomer other than the specific component (A) and component (B) and a silicon-containing styrenic monomer as the essential constituting components and is substantially not allowed to contain a hydrophilic component.
