To provide an oxygen-permeable membrane which can be applied to an air intake mechanism, i.e., a mechanism which prevents the entry of moisture in the air together with air into an air electrode in an air battery or a fuel battery and has a high capability of preventing the permeation of moisture.
An oxygen-permeable membrane, which comprises an aggregate of particles, integrated with each other by fusing, having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 50 μm formed of a fluororesin such as polytetrafluoroethylene has pores having a diameter of not more than 0.5 μm, has a contact angle with water of not less than 120 degrees, and has ultrahigh water repellency and thus can function as an oxygen (air) permeable film having a moisture permeation preventive capability. When the oxygen permeable film is used in combination with a porous supporting base material formed of polyethylene or the like, the combination can be used as an oxygen permeable sheet 17 having an excellent moisture permeation preventive capability in an air intake hole 110 in an air battery.
