Title:
OXYGEN PUMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010215997
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve such a problem that a conventional oxygen pump using an electrolytic chemical reaction has been unable to suck and discharge oxygen at room temperature.

The oxygen pump has a first electrode (cathode) 1 and a second electrode (anode) 2 each composed of a porous conductor, an electrolytic solution 4 containing at least one of a metal and a metal ion, an intermediate electrode 5 composed of a porous conductor immersed in the electrolytic solution 4, and a separator 3. By interposing the electrolytic solution 4 and the separator 3 between the respective electrodes 1, 2 and the intermediate electrode 5, and applying a voltage between the first electrode 1 and the intermediate electrode 5, and between the intermediate electrode 5 and the second electrode 2, oxygen is sucked from the second electrode 2 and oxygen is discharged from the first electrode 1.
