Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the caption decoder and the video signal reproducing device provided with the caption decoder by tentatively stopping a VTR or an LDP so as to keep display of a teletext signal of caption information thereby repetitively reproducing a same part of an audio signal when a same part of the television signal of caption information from the VTR or the LDP is desired to be viewed repetitively.
CONSTITUTION: A caption decode circuit 5 extracts caption information from a television signal from a VTR 12 and provides an output of mixture of a teletext signal and a video signal, and an audio signal is processed by a speech speed conversion circuit 7 via an audio signal processing circuit 6 and the processed signal is outputted to a television receiver 13. When the VTR 12 is tentatively stopped, since new teletext data are not in existence in the caption decoder circuit 5, tentative stop is discriminated and the result is fed to a control section 10. Then the control section 10 uses the caption decode circuit 5 and the speech speed conversion circuit 7 to repetitively reproduce the teletext signal and the audio signal just before tentatively stop.
