Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an oxytocin antagonistic agent, comprising benzoheterocyclic compound as an active ingredient and having suppressing actions on matrical smooth muscles, milk release and synthesis and release of prostaglandins, vasodilator action, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This oxytocin antagonistic agent comprises a compound of the formula [W is (CH2)p or CH=CH-(CH2)q (carbon atoms in the groups can be substituted with O, S or NR13; R1 and R2 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; R3 is (CO)n-NR4R5; (n) is 0 or 1; R4 is H, alkyl, etc.; R5 is substituted benzoyl, etc.; R13 is H, alkyl, etc.; (p) is 3-5; (q) is 1-3], e.g. 4- methylamino-1-[4-(3,5-dichlorobenzoylamino)benzoyl ]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline in an amount of 1-70wt.% as an active ingredient. This compound is useful for preventing and treating oxytocin-related diseases, especially inhibiting premature labor and delivery before the cesarean operation, preventing and treating dysmenorrhea, etc.
