Abstract:
Compounds of the formula
wherein R1 is alkyl, alkoxy or a halogen atom; R2 is H or alkyl; y is a number of from 2 to 200; and Z is H or alkylcarbonyl.
A process for the preparation of a p-formyl-N,N-dipolyoxyalkylene-substituted aniline comprises (a) adding a condensing agent to a solution of dimethylformamide in a N,N-dipolyoxyalkylene-substituted aniline, in which the condensing agent is selected from phosphorus oxychloride, thionyl chloride, phosphorus trihalide, phosphorus pentahalide and acyl acid chlorides; and (b) hydrolysing the resultant p-formyl-N,N-dipolyoxyalkylene-substituted aniline diacetate.
