Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the subject fiber, having a high elastic modulus and a high strength and improved in easy hydrolytic properties by spinning a p- oriented aromatic polyamide dope containing an isocyanate compound added thereto and drying the resultant fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A p-oriented aromatic polyamide dope containing an isocyanate compound added thereto [(60:40)-(99:1) weight ratio of the p-oriented aromatic polyamide to the isocyanate compound] is spun and the resultant fiber is then dried. The isocyanate compound is added to a polymerization solution for the p-aramid to afford a spinning dope, which can then be spun into an aqueous coagulation solvent.
