Abstract:
Workpiece treatment line control involves altering parameters strongly correlated with deviant characteristic values according to a stored correlation or its derived rules. Workpiece chemical and/or physical treatment line is controlled by producing a correlation between one or more process parameters and one or more desired treatment characteristic values, deriving associated rules describing the dependency of the characteristic values on the parameters and storing the correlation and/or the derived rules in a control system for the treatment line. On deviation of the continuously or discontinuously measured characteristic values from a preset target value range or occurrence of a significant trend of these characteristic values towards the limits of the target value range, those parameters, which are in strongest correlation with these characteristic values, are altered according to the determined correlation and/or the derived rules in the direction which counteracts deviation of the characteristic values from the target range.
