Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form a skelton constituted of a hard and high strength material in a Cu base by mixing B4C powder and one or more kinds of powder among Ti, Zr, their hydrides or alloys with Cu to copper powder, subjecting said mixture to green compacting and reaction sintering at the temp. or above of the melting point in copper. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds among B4C powder, Ti powder, Zr powder, Ti hydride powder, Zr hydride powder, Cu-Ti alloy powder, Cu-Zr alloy powder and Cu-Ti-Zr alloy powder are mixed to copper powder; and the mixture is subjected to green compacting. Said green compact is heated to the temp. or above of the melting point in copper and to about <=1,600 deg.C in a vacuum or a reducing atmosphere and is subjected to reaction sintering. By this method, a composite copper alloy in which the Cu base is strengthened by the hard and high strength material having a high melting point constituted of TiB2 and TiC or ZrB2 and ZrC can be obtd. Said composite copper alloy combines excellent electric and heat conductivity and heat resistance.
