Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance accuracy by flickering illumination on a pavement (moving face) stroboscopically thereby realizing highly accurate measurement even under high speed movement. CONSTITUTION:A CCD line sensor camera 3 detects reflection light corresponding to light and dark pattern of a pavement. Reflection light signals are sampled at a predetermined period, read out through a read out circuit 4, and then converted through an A/D converter 5. Data signals thereof are then subjected to product-sum operation together with a spatial weighting function fed from a weighting function generator 6 thus obtaining a spatial frequency component vector. A moving distance is then determined based on the differential phase angle between previously detected vector and a currently detected vector. In case of high speed movement, the CCD line sensor 2 detects a reflected light accompanied with variation of light and dark pattern due to movement within a storage time and thereby the moving distance can not be measured accurately. When an illumination light source 8 is flickered stroboscopically, i.e., with a shorter lighting time as compared with the CCD storage time, comps frequency component pattern in the light and dark pattern can be detected stably and accurately.
