Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a nonwoven fabric having excellent electric performance and an excellent electrolyte absorbing and holding characteristic by constituting the nonwoven fabric of polyolefine fiber and divided type composite fiber obtained by joining polyolefine polymer and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer whose compounding ratio is specific weight%, and performing corona discharge treatment. CONSTITUTION:Nonwoven fabric is constituted of divided type composite fiber obtained by joining polyolefine polymer and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer being a main component and respective organic fibers being polyolefine fiber. Compounding ratios of these divided type composite fiber and polyolefine fiber are respectively 75 to 100weight% and 25 to 0weight%. By a wet combing method, a web is formed of slurry obtained by dispersing the respective organic fibers in water. Corona discharge treatment is performed on the surface of entangled nonwoven fabric obtained from this web, and calendaring is performed. Or after the calendaring is performed on this entangled nonwoven fabric, the corona discharge treatment is performed, and the nonwoven fabric for an alkaline battery separator is manufactured. Thereby, the nonwoven fabric having excellent electric performance and an excellent electrolyte absorbing and holding characteristic is obtained.
