PURPOSE: To protect walkers on a crossing by enabling drivers to recognize exactly a vehicle stop position even at night by setting a light-emission vehicle stop position before the crossing.

CONSTITUTION: Light-emission parts 3 are set before a crossing 1, and when the optical axes of photoelectric sensors 4L and 4R are interrupted by a walker on the crossing at night, a highfrequency voltage for light emission is applied intermittently to the parts 3 from a luminous control circuit built in a control box 5. Since the parts 3 emit flashing light for a sufficient time period to pass over the crossing 1 by the walker, the driver can exactly recognize the vehicle stop position even at night.
