PURPOSE: To reduce a driving force and continue the drive of a photographing lens while preventing the breakdown of a driving mechanism and the destruction of a driving circuit by switching the moving speed of a photographing lens to a slower moving speed when a detecting means detects that the photographing lens is not moved.
CONSTITUTION: A lens-barrel is delivered by the positive rotation of a motor 9, and recessed by the reverse rotation. When the lens barrel is moved by the current carrying to the motor 9, the movement of the lens-barrel is detected by a photo interrupter 7. The photo interrupter 7 reverses an output signal (LPI) every movement in a prescribed quantity of the lens-barrel, and supplies the output to a CPU circuit 14. The CPU circuit 14 takes the position where a lens-barrel switch S3 is switched from OFF to ON as a standard position, and counts the pulse number inputted to the LPI terminal after the lens-barrel switch S3 is reversed. When a prescribed pulse number is counted, thereafter, the current carrying to the motor 9 is stopped, whereby the lens-barrel is driven to a prescribed position.
