Title:
SUSPENSION FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0825936
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To generate sufficient damping force with good responsiveness and prevent the generation of cavitation and excessive damping force so as to eliminate the necessity of making a rotary damper or the like large-sized.

CONSTITUTION: A suspension for a vehicle has a rotary damper provided with a shaft 24 integrally having a vane rotated by an upper arm 14, and a housing 58 fitted to the shaft 24. A motion transmission means 95 formed of links 60, 78, 80 is provided, and when the upper arm 14 is pivotally moved, the housing 58 is rotated in the reverse direction to the upper arm 14 by the motion transmission means 95. The shaft 24 is connected at one end thereof to a torsion bar 54 and connected at the other end to the inner end of the upper arm 14. When the pivotally moving angular velocity of the upper arm 14 becomes excessive, the shaft and the torsion bar are distorted by the vane so as to reduce the relative rotating angular velocity of the housing and shaft, thus reducing damping force.
