To provide a packaging apparatus which can support a variety of shapes and sizes of articles in forming a film and packaging an article and also which can neatly package the article.

The packaging apparatus has a film former 14 which can insert an article 11 in a film 10 unrolled from a film roll and a belt conveyer for carrying the article 11 to the film former 14. The film former 14 has a pair of sidewalls 17 and 18 opposite to each other, and upstream ends 17a and 18a in the feeding direction of the film 10 are formed to be inclined by 45° downwardly in the direction of feeding the film 10 to turn the feeding direction of the film 10 by 90°. The pair of sidewalls 17 and 18 of the film former 14 are horizontally divided from the ends 17a and 18a and are provided to be capable of rising/lowering slantly by 45° relative to each other to be adjustable in height.
