To provide a packaging apparatus that makes it possible to smoothly insert content into the insertion opening of a former of a packaging apparatus.

A left insertion guide 2 and a right insertion guide 3 are arranged at both sides of an insertion mouth 7 of the former. Each insertion guide 2, 3 is formed from a rear wall 4, a side wall 5, and a front wall 6. The side walls 5 are inclined outward to increase the distance between them toward upward. The front wall 6 is lower than the rear wall 4 such that the upper end inclines forward in order to facilitate the insertion of content from front. The right and left insertion guides 2 and 3 are attached to a horizontal member 10 fixed behind by a guide mounting member 12 with mounting screws and nuts. Each mounting hole is a long hole 11 that allows the adjustment of horizontal movement according to the width of content. The horizontal member 10 is attached to a post 8 so as to be detachable.
