To provide a freely openable/closable packaging container designed to provide the consumer in a fast-food restaurant with a food product B whose general form is flat and upwardly expanded, without lowering the value of the product.
A container section 10 and a lid section 20, which are connected by a hinge part P, of the packaging container are made to be of rectangular parallelepiped shape. The heights of both right and left side plates 14, 15 of the container section 10 are made higher than the heights of a front plate 12 and rear plate 13. Higher portions 14a, 15a of the right and left side plates 14, 15 are protruded forward from the front plate 12 (protrusions 14b, 15b). Protrusions 14b and 15b have smoothly curved sections 14d, 15d from the upper part to the front side. When the lid part 20 is closed, a front plate 22 of the lid part 20 is compulsorily protruded forward along the locus of the smoothly curved sections 14d, 15d. This enables the avoidance of contact between the lower part of a front plate 22 of the lid part 20 and an accommodated food product B, thus making the lid closure smooth.
