To provide a packaging device for checkout counter which is compact in size and can automatically discharge a sealed packaged commodity to a back end part.
At about a central part in the longitudinal direction of a checkout counter body 21, a bag forming chamber having a commodity injecting opening 22 is provided. At its upstream side, there are provided a film roll 26, a film feed expanding mechanism 25 which holds a film unwound from the film roll 26 so as to pull out up to a predetermined position in the bag forming chamber and makes a bag-like film opened immediately under the commodity injecting opening 22, and a film cutting solvent welding mechanism 35 which cuts the film sent by the mechanism 25 in the vertical direction and connects by solvent welding along a cut part and forms a twofold film into a bag-like shape which opens only at the upper part. Also, the bag forming chamber has a sealing mechanism for sealing the opening of the bag-like film filled with a commodity by welding with solvent and a discharging conveyor for discharging a sealed packaged commodity W to a back end opening 20b.
