To provide a packaging material for a photosensitive material less liable to generate dust such as paper dust and to provide a photosensitive material package in which dust such as paper dust is less liable to adhere to an inner packaging bag housing the photosensitive material.

The packaging material comprises paperboard for packaging an inner packaging bag housing a sheetlike photosensitive material stacked body, wherein a thermoplastic resin layer has been laminated on the front and rear faces of the paperboard. The preferred thermoplastic resin is, e.g. a polyolefin or polyester thermoplastic resin.
