The packaging material for a photosensitive material, for a photosensitive and thermosensitive material or for a thermosensitive material has an intermediate layer between an outermost layer comprising a heat resistant flexible sheet and an innermost layer comprising a light-blocking heat-sealing layer containing low-density polyethylene by a high-pressure method, wherein the intermediate layer has 0.8-1.2 times for a vertical to horizontal strength ratio of edge tear resistance according to JIS C 2151 and vertical and horizontal strengths of 20-80 N/15 mm each.
