Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable electrically and mechanically stabler and surer connection by face down bonding a driving IC to a liquid crystal display panel, then irradiating the junctures of the driving IC with a laser beam.
CONSTITUTION: The driving IC 107 having projecting electrodes 111 transferred with conductive adhesives 108 is face down bonded to the prescribed position of pattern electrodes 106 formed on a first substrate 101 and is lightly pressed from the opposite side of the projecting electrodes 111 of the driving IC 107. The conductive adhesives 108 are thereafter irradiated with the laser beam 109 through the first substrate 101 and further through the pattern electrodes 106 formed of a transparent conductive film consisting of indium oxide, etc., from the opposite side of the surface formed with the pattern electrodes 106 of the first substrate 101. The normal curing of the conductive adhesives 108 is then executed. The YAG laser having the wavelength which transmits the first substrate 101 and the pattern electrodes 106 is used as the laser beam 109. Laser beams having other wavelengths are usable as well.
