Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil packaging method capable of annularly winding a non-elastic packaging band material and a stretch film respectively on the inside and the outside of a steel wire or a ban steel coil by using a self-traveling shuttle rotated along an annular elliptic orbit.SOLUTION: The packaging material of a packaging material wound roll fitted to a self-traveling shuttle 7 comprises: an inner non-elastic packaging band material ; and an outer stretch film larger in width than the packaging band material. A tension roller provided to the shuttle is pressed into contact with the wound roll to follow. The tension roller applies fixed tension to the packaging material by operating a tension brake device through rotation of a motor in order to provide rotational resistance to the packaging material pulled out from the wound roll by the rotation of the self-traveling shuttle along an annular elliptic orbit 4. When the packaging material slackens, the reverse rotation of the tension roller is accelerated because of a reduction in rotational torque of the tension brake device to unwind the packaging material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
