Abstract:
To provide: packaging paper capable of producing a package of excellent visibility even when a space or a gap is present between a translucent area and a content; and a package packed by the packaging paper.SOLUTION: The packaging paper according to the present invention comprises a translucent area satisfying the following requirements (1) and (2). The requirement (1): the following Δ(1) is 5.0 or less. The requirement (2): the following Δ(2) is 90 or more. Δ(1)=I2-I1. Δ(2)=(I2/I1)×100. I1: the visible light transmittance of transmitted light β transmitting the translucent area 4 detected at a position away from the incident position P by d1 mm when linear light α is made incident to the translucent area 4 of the packaging paper 1 from a visible light source 20.
