To obtain a packed body of porous cellulose beads containing a volatile chemical, capable of gradually releasing the volatile component into water, a warm water or air over a long period, capable of enabling the releasing amount to be controlled and allowing the treatment thereof after use to be safely and readily carried out.

This packed body of porous cellulose beads is obtained by mixing a viscose with a volatile chemical 2, e.g. a perfume and a plant essential oil, and an acid-degradable foaming agent, e.g. calcium carbonate to provide a mixed liquid, supplying the mixed liquid to a coagulation and regeneration vessel to coagulate and regenerate the cellulose in the coagulation and regeneration vessel while foaming the foaming agent and to provide the porous cellulose beads containing the volatile chemical, and wrapping the obtained beads with paper or a nonwoven fabric to provide a packed shape.
