Abstract:

To provide a packet communication method and a switching system that realize a high-speed/high-capacity packet network (hereunder the network is abbreviated as NW) at a low price.

There is provided a communication control method for performing packet communication via an input switching unit and an output switching unit. In the communication control method, a switching tag is used that is common between the input switching unit and the output switching unit. With that, the switching tag used for both the switching units is eliminated when packets are sent out of the output switching unit.
