Abstract:
PURPOSE: To impose charging only a user cell used substantially by the user by setting 'a classified user control packet to be out of object of charging.
CONSTITUTION: In a conventional system, two-byte information '00' in a PT (Payload Type) field in each cell header has been used for identification of a user cell and a charging object, in this embodiment, information for identification of a cell category of 'user cell but not an object of charging' is added. That is, the category information '01' is added. Then the cell is identified to be a cell at the outside of the charging object. As an example of the user cell but out of object of charging, the cell relates to a cell of a call tone sent from an ATM exchange connecting to a called user voice terminal equipment to a caller user voice terminal equipment when the terminal equipment is a voice terminal equipment and as a result, the call tone cell is not charged.
