PURPOSE: To improve the packet capability and to select freely a relay path by setting cross point information of a packet switch as packet routing header information and processing the routing processing at each packet in parallel by the packet switch.
CONSTITUTION: The packet switch 14 connects a subscriber line section (HLU) 11, an inter-station line section (TLU) 12 and a call processing unit (CPU) 13 mutually. The section HLU 11 is provided with a data transfer control processing and a packet type analysis function. Further, the section TLU 12 is provided with an inter-station control processing function and the CPU 13 has a call control processing function, path selection at the call setting and a decision function of cross information of the packet switch. The cross point information is set to a routing header part 31 of an inter-network packet format, the cross point information is not limited by a pre-assignment path and the cross point information of the switch in a path selected freely and decided by the CPU 13. The basic elements of the packet exchange processing is decentralized in such a way and the routing processing is processed in parallel by the packet switch at each packet at data transmission. Further, there is no limitation in the path selection such as preassignment path.
