Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint enabling a connecting work to be carried out further simply and easily in a short time, showing a superior sealing characteristic and less looseness.SOLUTION: A packing built-in type pipe joint comprises: a halved annular housing 1 composed of a semicircular upper housing 1' and a lower housing 1" covered by both flanges Pa of two pipe members P oppositely faced to each other and outer circumferential surface portions of the pipe members P adjacent to the respective flanges Pa and formed with each of packing insertion concave grooves 1e at an inner circumferential surface opposing against the outer circumferential surface portion adjacent to each of the flanges Pa of at least two pipe members P; annular halved packing 2 comprising two pieces of semicircular packing 2' each of which is inserted and installed in the packing insertion concave grooves 1e of the upper housing 1' and the lower housing 1" and abutted in a close-contacted state to the outer circumferential surface adjacent to each of the flanges Pa of the two pipe members P oppositely faced to each other; and fastening elements 4 for fastening and fixing the upper housing 1' and the lower housing 1" in a diameter reducing direction.
