PURPOSE: To provide a packing machine wherein a mechanism for holding/ moving a band guide is simplified to reduce the number of components, and the band guide and a driving rod and a bearing or the like of a guide driving means are not likely to be subjected to undesirable deformation or damage, whereby guiding and releasing of a band can be smoothly performed and also the packing machine can be manufactured at a low cost.

CONSTITUTION: A band guide 20 placed across a body housing 13 and a band guide arch 15 with an entire shape of lying 'C' and a cross section of an approximate 'U' or '7' is laterally movably held in a hanging state by stretchable hanging means 27, 21 placed on the band guide arch 15. Lower sides 24, 25 of the band guide 20 positioned in the body housing 13 are constituted to be horizontally moved via swinging arms 40, 40 by guide driving means 30, 30.
