Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve performance by mutually diffusing between the two liq. and gas phases and breaking the laminar film.
CONSTITUTION: This packing is formed with a laminate obtained by laminating plural base sheets 1 having plural continuous corrugated folds inclined to the axis of a tower on their surfaces so that the folding directions are intercrossed. Plural convex protrusions 2, 2', 2" and 2" are unidirectionally arranged in plural lines on the base sheet, and the protrusions of the adjacent lines are staggered with respect to one another. Besides, convex protrusions 3, 3', 3" and 3"' are arragned in another direction in plural lines, the protrusions of the adjacent lines are staggered with respect to one another, and the lines of the oppositely directed protrusions are alternately arranged. The height of the protrusion from the sheet surface is controlled to ≤2mm, and the width of the foot of the protrusion is adjusted to more than a half of the distance between the tops of the protrusions of the adjacent lines.
