The packing material 1 is configured to include the packing trays 10A and 20A with storage recesses 11 and 21 formed each for storing at least one part Pa of each of articles P to be packed, and then, pack the articles P to be packed by stacking the packing trays in the vertical direction. Among the stacked packing trays, the lower-positioned packing tray 20A includes a plurality of support parts 23 and 24 for supporting the circumference of respective storage recesses of the upper-positioned packing tray 10A from beneath. The support parts 23 and 24 on the lower-positioned packing tray 20A are formed such that, among four circumferential sides of the storage recess 11, at least one side located on the connection part Pb storing side is made in a non-support state with respect to at least one storage recess 11 formed on the upper-positioned packing tray 10A.
