After a band holding step is completed, a band tip is held in readiness. A band tightening step is performed by driving a drive motor by operating a manual tightening switch 76, in other words, by manually controlling the rotation of a drive roller. A band sealing step and a band feeding step are successively and automatically performed subsequently by operating a tightening completion switch 78 to output the completion signal of the band tightening step. A change-over switch 80 to switch the manual mode of validating the manual tightening switch 76 and the tightening completion switch 78 and the automatic mode of invalidating these switches is preferably provided.
