Title:
PACKING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0285574
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve durability for use in oil or the like by impregnating a rubbery elastic polymer into a ring-shaped fiber raw material and solidifying and molding it.

CONSTITUTION: Floss silk 4 is wound as a fiber raw material on the shaft 3 of a framework 2, and it is pressurized by a press. This is repeated several times to form the preset thickness. This packing raw material 1a is impregnated with a rubbery elastic polymer 5 such as rubber cement and solidified to mold a packing 1. The rubbery elastic polymer 5 may be impregnated after molding the packing raw material 1a, or it may be impregnated whenever the floss silk is pressed. The durability of a sliding section can be improved, a sufficient seal effect is obtained as compared with a metal packing or the like, and the strength can be improved because floss silk is used for the fiber raw material.
