Abstract:
To provide a pad type bearing device of water lubrication and a lateral shaft water turbine for using water as a lubricant, surely lubricating a bearing pad, maintaining wear resistance of a bearing sliding surface for a long period of time and for facilitating oil-free operation.
In the pad type bearing device for supporting a laterally positioned rotation shaft, a plurality of bearing pads for which a resin material at a sliding surface side is used so as to surround the sliding surface of the rotation shaft are arranged, the sliding surfaces of the bearing pads located at a lower half part are dipped in the lubrication water and pumping means are arranged near both end pars of the bearing pads.
