Title:
PADDLE FOR HAND ROWING BOAT AND OAR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000326896
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To efficiently make power of a rower into propelling force of a boat and to suppress generation of oscillation harmful to stability of the boat by providing an oscillatable joint coupling a shat and a blade and an oscillating speed control device connected with the blade.

At an end part of a shaft 1, a fulcrum A2 and a fulcrum B3 of the shaft are provided. On a back face of a blade 4, a fulcrum a5 and a fulcrum b6 of the blade 4 are provided. The fulcrum A2 of the shaft 1 and the fulcrum a5 of the blade 4 are coupled by a pin and an oscillatable joint is formed. The fulcrum B3 is coupled with the fulcrum b6 by a pin via an oscillating speed control device 7. Shafts of each fulcrum are parallel and an angle to a shaft 8 is about 90°. As a result, because a paddle surface 11 keeps an angle of 90° for an advancing direction of a boat in all processes when the blade 4 is at the front, the center and the rear sides on a board side in a paddle, power of a rower can be efficiently made into propelling force of the boat and generation of vertical and horizontal force harmful to stability of the boat can be suppressed.
