This page presser 1 of the book holds the open page P of the book B and keeps the book under its open state and is equipped with a pair of pressing pieces 2 and 3 opposing to the front and the rear surfaces of the open page and a pressurizing member 4 for respectively pressing these pressing pieces against the front and the rear surfaces of the page. In addition, to at least either one of the pressing pieces, a rolling member 5 for shifting the one pressing piece along the surface of the page at the opening and closing of the book is provided.
