PURPOSE: To enable positive page turning by providing a form hooking mechanism equipped with a hook to pick up only one inner sheet among others of a passbook and a page turning mechanism equipped with a page sorting mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: The center of a rear edge of a passbook placed at a start position for normal page turning is hooked by a form hooking mechanism 25 and the hooked page is pulled upward by a transport guide immediately. After that, the passbook is transported in an arrow X direction until the center of a rear edge of the passbook is detected by a photosensor 30 with the turned page hooked by the form hooking mechanism 25. In this case, the turned page is curved by a curve-shaping plate 28. A page sorting pin 34 is inserted into the curved part of the turned page and the form hooking mechanism 25 is lifted up. Further, the passbook is transported in the arrow direction with the page sorting pin 34 inserted. Thus page turning operation takes place.
