To stably materialize page turning operation with a small machine in which a surface of a paper sheet is free from soil or a scratch, in which control and adjustment of a mechanism is simplified, and in which high-speed processing requires no large space nor a large force application, in a page turning device in use for turning a plurality of bound sheets of paper.
The page turning device includes: a gap generating means with which a gap is made between a target paper sheet 7 to be turned over and a paper sheet immediately underneath in a plurality of bound sheets of paper 6; and a conveyance means which moves a corner of the target sheet 7 to be turned. The page turning device is characterized in that the stable page turning is materialized by a turning track guiding unit 2 by which the track of the corner of the target sheet 7 is guided, with the conveyance means inserting the tip end in the gap provided between the target sheet 7 to be turned over and the paper sheet immediately underneath; and by a holding/conveying unit 3 by which the target sheet 7 to be turned over is held, conveyed and further turned over with a greater extent, after the target sheet 7 is warped and turned over by the turning track guiding unit.
