To provide a page turning unit suppressing the effect of rigidity of a turned page and improving reliability in page turning.

A page turning roller 51 is an eccentric roller in which a rotation center is shifted from a gravitational center. A receiving member 53 is turnably attached at the other surface side of a conveyance path in a page turning position, with an axis in a direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction of a booklet. The receiving member 53 receives the booklet in an open state conveyed at the page turning position by a conveyance mechanism. When rotated by one revolution, the page turning roller 51 abuts against and presses the booklet in a partial rotation range. By this pressing, the receiving member 53 is rotated, and the booklet is tilted to the rotation direction of the abutment position of the turning roller. The turning roller 51 thereby applies force in a direction for turning up a page of the booklet, at the abutment position. Accordingly, the effect of rigidity of the turned page is suppressed, and the reliability of page turning is improved.
