PURPOSE: To store paging reference information without sacrificing the capacity of a storage by storing paging reference information in a blank bit of an address conversion table stored in the storage.
CONSTITUTION: A computer has 16 clusters and one cluster has 4 processors. Each cluster is provided with a memory control unit MCU and a main storage LSU in addition to the 4 processors, a common storage GSU to be used for respective clusters in common is connected to the cluster and an external storage device is connected as an extended storage. At the time of paging, a which address in an external storage stores a necessary page is stored in an address conversion table stored in the GSU and the paging reference information is stored in blank bits of the table. The table stores respective bits of I, ACC, F, R, and C as the paging reference information in addition to real addresses.
